Being a productive artist means creating a bunch of junk, until you get to that piece that you eventually like. It’s based on inspiration streak that is coming from all the failed attempts of getting it the way you want.
Sometimes we get lucky and write that perfect piece from the first attempt, but do we count all those times we’ve been struggling over the empty screen? Do we count all those moments where we were forcing our brains to come up with a coherent idea that we found worthy of writing.
Sometimes writing won’t come naturally, but those moments when we feel utterly unproductive, are the moments that are pushing our mind in the right direction, until eventually we get it the way we want.
